Brunch for Freedom!

Brunch for Freedom!

Who says you have to eat dinner food for it to be a Freedom Dinner? What about all of the deliciousness of brunch!? Whether you invite your friends to join you at 11 am or 6 pm let’s not over look the power of maple syrup. ;)

In our house, we have a Saturday morning tradition of pancakes, which has given us LOTS of opportunity to try LOTS of different pancakes so when I say I’m including the BEST Pancakes in this menu, believe me - they are the best!

The lovely part about brunch is that it’s easy to delegate dishes for people to bring and you can set up your griddle or waffle iron right by the table and make fresh cakes to serve as they’re ready - it makes for a super fun meal together.

Now the Table!

Brunch feels very light and airy to me - simple white table cloths with a sprig of fresh greenery or maybe white kraft paper and fun sketched place mats. I love using long lengths of lace to dress the table up. Add in fresh mandarin oranges for color or a little pot of pansies. If you’re eating at true ‘brunch’ hours don’t worry too much about candles since it will be light out. You can dot a few tea lights down the table and call it good. The prettiest part of the table can truly be carafes of fresh juice, and french presses filled with steaming coffee. If you need extras of either of these go hit up the local thrift shops!! I have found the most beautiful Italian style carafes as well as the large size of french presses for a fraction of the cost!
