The kids' Favorite Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Print Friendly and PDF

If a recipe is requested again and again, you know it’s a winner. This simple chocolate chip banana bread has been on the favorites list since our kids were little. The thing I love about it is that you can whip up the dough faster than your oven can pre heat! So pull out those bananas and the chocolate chip bag that is partially used and make one of our all time favorite Red Tin Treats.

I like to call these Red Tin Treats, but the kids basically devoured the entire loaf so it didn't make it into the Red Tin. Sometimes I'll double the batch and make them as muffins instead of a loaf, that way we're sure to have some left overs!

If you dig this recipe, you’ll love the Red Tin Treats ECookBook. It’s filled to the brim with 20 more of our all time favorite treats. Happy baking!

The Kid's Favorite Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

  • 4 ripe bananas

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 1/2 cups flour

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a loaf pan and set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer combine the bananas, sugar, egg and butter. Mix until combined. Then add in the salt, baking soda, and flour. Once the dry ingredients are well incorporated add in the chocolate chips then pour into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Enjoy! - Kelly
